The Golden Days of TGS

Tororo Girls’ School was established in 1965 as a symbol of the United States Government's commitment to advancing girls' education in Uganda. This initiative came during a period when nations like the U.S. and Soviet Union supported global educational development as a form of diplomatic outreach. The founding of the school marked a significant step in promoting access to quality education for Ugandan girls, shaping generations of young women to become leaders and innovators. Today, Tororo Girls’ School stands as a proud institution dedicated to empowering girls through academic excellence and holistic development.
